![]() ![]() All you gotta do is to open up system preference from the Finder top bar menu, and then you will see this icon with gear appearing on your dock. You can then click on the "Finder" text and you will see the selection "Preferences". When you click on "Finder" icon in the dock you should be able to see the top bar displays a text saying "Finder" beside the apple icon. ![]() If you want to keep things in your dock, simply drag the item you want into the dock (note: you should be able to see this line on the dock which separates the dock, the left side is for the applications while the right side is for files and folders.)ītw the preference you were talking about is probably located at the top menu. ![]() You can then open up Finder and dump them into the Documents folder or what so ever. If you want to reduce the amount of the files on your desk, do the first step, and sort them into different folders as you like. Simply right click on the screen and hover over "Clean up by", and then you will see a few different options to which I usually do "Kind".
